George Peabody Elementary School To Receive Library Makeover

3 Jan 2011

Students and staff will kick off the library's renovation process with a celebration

DALLAS–Students and staff at Dallas Independent School District's George Peabody Elementary School will gather to kick off the school's library makeover at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 4, at the school, located at 3101 Raydell Place.

The library makeover will be possible thanks to Target, the Heart of America Foundation, and the NFL Players Association. This is the fourth in a series of library makeovers brought to Dallas ISD elementary schools. W.W. Bushman, Roger Q. Mills, and Casa View elementary schools have benefited from these "extreme makeovers" during the past three years.

District officials and Target representatives also will join the celebration. The renovated library will be unveiled on Wednesday, Feb. 2.

"Dallas ISD is pioneering a college readiness warning system and we are proud to lend our support to it," in announcing a $3.77 million grant.
