The Students Participated in an "What Gifts Would You Buy Your Mom" Essay Project
DALLAS–Dallas Independent School District students attending Cesar Chavez Learning Center will receive gifts to present to their moms tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 16, at 11:30 a.m., at the school, located at 1710 N. Carroll Ave.
Students from 11 other Dallas ISD schools participated in an essay contest, hosted by the non-profit organization Gifts for Moms. The organization helps single mothers to have a special holiday season. The topic of the essay project was "If you could go to the mall and purchase a holiday gift for your mom, what would you buy?" Gifts for Moms will present students with gifts for their moms based on their essays.
Some of the students wished to buy their moms flowers, purses, make up, among other things, and as a student expressed in her essay "wigs because my mom has cancer and it makes her hair fall out."
