DALLAS–Dallas Independent School District students who are currently enrolled in the 9th and 10th grade are invited to participate in the 2011 Dallas Hispanic Youth Institute Kick-Off from June 15-June 18, on the Southern Methodist University campus.
Hosted by the Hispanic College Fund and Southern Methodist University, the Hispanic Youth Institute Kick-Off will offer students the opportunity to connect with Hispanic mentors, attend workshops on college admissions and financial aid, compete for $10,500 in available scholarship funds, and meet with college admissions officers from across the country.
The program, which is also open to students from other school districts, requires only a $10 commitment from students. All other expenses, including transportation, lodging and food, will be covered by the sponsors. Approximately 200 students will be selected to attend.
The application period closes Thursday, March 31. For application requirements and to apply, students should visit the Web site www.hispanicyouth.org/symposium-dallas.
