Community Comes Out to Honor Boys Basketball Team
DALLAS--Parents, students, alumni groups, booster clubs, and the community lined the parade route Saturday to congratulate the Justin F. Kimball High School boys basketball team on their 4A state championship victory.
The parade, which featured school bands, cheerleaders, drill teams, clubs and cheer groups from Kimball High and nearby schools, was led by District 6 Trustee Carla Ranger and Dallas Police Chief David Brown.
A rally following the parade featured Dallas Mayor Dwaine Caraway, Senator Royce West, and Trustee Ranger, all of whom saluted the team and its coaches and praised the team for an outstanding season exemplified by wins on the court and good sportsmanship throughout the season.
The event was organized by Elite News publisher Jordan Blair with the support of community businesses and organizations.
