7 Other Dallas ISD Schools Included Among Best Public Schools
DALLAS—The School of Science and Engineering at the Yvonne A Ewell Townview Center is the top high school in the state according to Children at Risk, a non-partisan research and advocacy organization based in Houston.
The organization ranks schools throughout the state using a number of measurements to determine their list of top public schools. Measurements include, percentage of students taking rigorous classes, scores from state and college entrance exams and graduation rates along with several other categories.
Other Dallas ISD schools ranking among the area's top public high schools are: School for the Talented and Gifted (2nd locally and statewide), Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women's Leadership School (3rd locally and 5th statewide), School of Health Professions (4th and 7th), School of Business and Management (6th and 16th), Judge Barefoot Sanders Magnet Center for Public Service: Government, Law and Law Enforcement (7th and 18th), Rosie Sorrells School of Education and Social Services (9th and 27th), and Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (10th and 29th).
W.H. Adamson and Seagoville high schools were listed among the top 10 most improved high schools in the state.
