Kindergarten Students Get Encouragement From Rotary Club of Dallas

'I Like Me' Books Help Organization Make Positive Impact on Students at Early Age</>

DALLAS—More than 1,000 Dallas ISD kindergarten students will get a big boost of encouragement when the Rotary Club of Dallas presents them with their own personal copies of the popular book "I Like Me."</>

Guest readers will join Rotary Club members as they visit selected campuses from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., May 4, to read to the kindergarten students and present them with their very own hardback copy of the book.</>

Guest readers will include Rotary Club members, district and city leaders and Dallas ISD high school students from Woodrow Wilson, Hillcrest and W.H. Adamson high schools.</>

The Rotary Club of Dallas has distributed the book to Dallas ISD kindergarteners for the last 13 years. "I Like Me," written by fellow Rotarian Vern Wheeler, encourages students to make good choices, fosters positive self-esteem and helps build character.</>

An additional 1,300 Dallas ISD kindergarten students will receive copies of the book as part of the program's literacy campaign.</>

Participating elementary schools are: Arcadia Park, City Park, Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Peeler, Preston Hollow, O.M. Roberts, Rosemont Primary, John W. Runyon, Alex Sanger and Edward Titche.</>
