Eight Organizations and Individuals to Receive Awards April 28</>
DALLAS–The Dallas Independent School District Board of Trustees will recognize outstanding partners and volunteers for their support to schools during the Thursday, April 28, board meeting.</>
Each April, during National Volunteer Recognition Month, the district encourages school staff to acknowledge the value of time and donations they have received from organizations, businesses and individual volunteers and to plan events to recognize these supporters.</>
Volunteers and partner groups annually contribute significant time, in-kind donations and financial resources to assist schools in their efforts to extend learning experiences for students. At about 6 p.m. during the April board meeting, Superintendent Michael Hinojosa and trustees will present awards to organizations and individuals nominated by the schools they support in the following eight categories:</>
Outstanding Elementary School Volunteer Award</>
Outstanding Secondary School Volunteer Award</>
Outstanding Business Partner Award</>
Outstanding Organization Partner</>
Outstanding Youth Volunteer Group Award</>
School Partnership Coordinator Award</>
Emmett Conrad Extra Mile Award</>
Superintendent's Award</>
