Greg Abbott to Speak at News Conference at Thomas Jefferson High School, May 23
DALLAS—Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott will join with the Texas Department of Public Safety Director Col. Steve McCraw at a news conference to bring awareness to the dangers of texting while driving. The event takes place at 2:30 p.m., Monday, May 23, at Thomas Jefferson High School, 4001 Walnut Hill Lane.
Recently four students from Jefferson participated in a DPS demonstration which gave them the opportunity to try their hands at driving while texting. The demonstrations took place on a driving course set up in a controlled area and supervised by DPS and Dallas ISD Police. The demonstrations were recorded to use in DPS's efforts to curtail texting while driving.
