Twenty-two district students will be awarded $2,000
DALLAS—The Dallas Independent School District will join with representatives from the United Negro College Fund to award scholarships to 22 college-bound students during a luncheon at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 2, in the Administration Building, 3700 Ross Ave. Each student will be awarded $2,000 for college expenses.
During the district's annual UNCF campaign, employees raised $44,000 for Dallas ISD students attending a UNCF member college/university or any other 4-year fully accredited college or university.
The scholarships are made possible entirely from Dallas ISD employee donations through a workplace campaign via voluntary payroll deductions or straight donations.
Scholarship recipients were chosen based on financial need and academic achievement.
