The City of Hutchins will host a back-to-school fair on Saturday
DALLAS–As part of the 2008 Bond Program, on August 22, first day of school, Dallas Independent School District will open the brand new Wilmer-Hutchins Elementary School and the repurposed Wilmer-Hutchins High School and Kennedy-Curry Middle School.
As the Wilmer-Hutchins community is preparing to welcome the return of schools to their community, the City of Hutchins, in conjunction with the non-profit organization Churches Working Together, will be hosting a back-to-school fair this Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Hutchins Senior Center, 500 W. Hickman, from 10 a.m. to noon.
The fair will provide free school supplies for students attending all three schools. The Hutchins Fire Department and Hutchins Police Department will be present to share safety and awareness information with students and parents. Food will also be provided. Dallas ISD opens Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy, the first all-male public school in the state of Texas, this 2011–2012 school year.
