Community Invited to Provide Input in Superintendent Search

29 Sep 1998

The Dallas community will have an opportunity to provide input and offer suggestions in the search for a new school district superintendent. Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates, Ltd., a search firm which specializes in assisting boards which are seeking superintendents, has coordinated and will conduct several forums with local organizations, and Dallas Independent School District teachers and staff.

Forum participants will fill out a Leadership Profile Assessment Form which will be used to develop a list of leadership qualities the new superintendent should exhibit.

In addition to the meetings with several organizations, there will be three open forums to gather information and input from specific groups. Input from teachers will be gathered at the first forum at 5 p.m. Monday, October 5, in the School Administration Building, 3700 Ross Avenue.

Two additional open forums will be held Tuesday, October 6. Support staff will have an opportunity to express their opinion and complete the Leadership Profile Assessment Form at 5 p.m. The Dallas community will have the same opportunity at 8 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the School Administration Building.

A new superintendent is expected to be named February 15, after the board conducts site visits of candidates.
