The Dallas Independent School District will conduct fall semester parent-teacher conferences starting Monday, October 4. Teachers and administrators will welcome the opportunity to discuss the current curriculum, school activities and the strengths and weaknesses of individual students.
It is recommended that parents bring a list of questions to ask the teachers during these meetings. Some questions to ask include—"Is my child in different groups for different subjects?"; "How well does my child get along with others?"; "Is my child working up to his/her ability?"; "Have you noticed any changes in my child's behavior?"; "What kinds of tests are being given?" and "What do the tests tell about my child's progress?" All children learn in different ways and the more a teacher knows about a student the better he/she can help him/her achieve in school.
The Parent -Teacher conference schedule for the Dallas Independent School District is:
Middle Schools • October 4 • 4 - 8 p.m.
High Schools • October 5 • 4 - 8 p.m.
Elementary Schools • October 6 • 4 - 8 p.m.
Parents who need to arrange for meetings outside the dates and times listed should call the school to make another arrangement.
