Rotary Honors DISD Teachers
The Rotary Club of Dallas will honor top teachers from the Dallas Independent School District with an awards luncheon Wednesday, April 19, 11:30 a.m., Union Station, 400 South Houston Street. Nominees for the award are solicited from all DISD schools with each advisory committee selecting the candidate submission. Winning recipients in the elementary, middle and high school categories each receive a cash award of $2,000. The two runners-up in each category receive $250. Each year, members of the Dallas Rotary Club evaluate Dallas teachers' performance and contributions. They select those whom they consider have demonstrated excellence in their profession by "going the extra mile."
