Dallas Independent School District Hosts Teacher Job Fairs

The Dallas Independent School District is inviting teachers to attend several job fairs which will be held throughout the city starting Saturday, April 29, at Molina High School, 2355 Duncanville Rd. All fairs will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and offer teachers an opportunity to learn more about employment opportunities with the DISD.

The district has most need for teachers who hold certificates in early childhood education (PK-K), general elementary (1-6), bilingual education, ESL, secondary science, secondary mathematics and special education (all levels).

Upcoming fairs have been scheduled for:

• Saturday, May 6, (learning center job fair), Cesar Chavez Learning Center, 1710 N. Carroll. (This is the only fair that will consider in-district transfers).

• Saturday, May 13, Skyline High School, 7777 Forney Rd.

• Friday, June 16, Bryan Adams High School, 2101 Millmar Dr.

Among the hiring incentives offered (one-time pay on first paycheck) are:

• $1,500 to the first 1,000 teachers to sign contract (any subject area and report to work)

• $1,500 to dual certification teachers (in critical subject fields listed above)

• $500 to bilingual teachers

• $500 to math teachers (7-12)

• $500 to science teachers (7-12)

• $500 to special education teachers (all grades)

• $500 to early childhood teachers (PK-K)

In addition, stipends are paid annually to teachers in the following fields:

• $3,000 bilingual

• $1,000 math (7-12)

• $1,000 science (7-12)

• $500 special education

• $500 Spanish

Fair participants should bring references, transcripts, teaching certificate, or college letter of recommendation for certification. A college deficiency plan will be required for interviews, if the candidate is not currently certified.
