Japanese Delegation To Visit Dallas Schools

Interim General Superintendent Robert Payton will greet a delegation of 10 representatives from the Japanese Ministry of Education Facility Planning Division Monday, September 18, at 9:30 a.m. in the DISD Administration Building, 3700 Ross Ave.

The delegation will visit the Yvonne Ewell Townview Center in the afternoon, at approximately 1 p.m., to tour the School of Science and Engineering and meet with the principal. The school is located at 1201 E. 8th St. Their visit next week will focus on school information system environments and school building automation.

A similar delegation visited the Kennedy Learning Center and Townview in 1996. At the time, both schools were newly-developed and featured the latest technology in building construction and educational environments.
