Joining Forces To Plan Life After High School12 Sep 2000 The Dallas Independent School District invites high school students to register with their guidance counselors for the Third Annual Career Exposure Forum and College Fair. Organized by the CAAPCO Foundation and the Dallas Independent School District, the college and career day is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Dallas Market Hall, 2200 N. Tanis Weiss, Hillcrest High School counselor, said the districtwide college fair and career forum will help students make informed choices about their future. “The more information that students and parents receive from colleges and professional personnel, the wiser their decision-making process is going to be in choosing post high school education planning, Dr. Weiss said. “The more people that students and parents come into personal contact with, the more different views and slants they will get about the areas that interest them.” The all-day event offers a smorgasbord of activities for 9th-12th students who seek information about career exposure, colleges and universities. The day's program will offer: • Interaction with college recruiters • Opportunities to visit with representatives from area businesses • Small round-table discussions with more than 200 career professionals • Seminars topics dealing with college and career • Dress for Success fashion show • Motivational speeches by successful career professionals Some of the colleges and institutions attending the Dallas Independent School District college and career day include: Langston University, Texas A&M, Florida A&M, Texas A&M at Commerce, New Mexico State, Oklahoma State University, Texas Tech University, Texas Woman's University, United States Military Academy, U.
