Military Academies Offer Full Scholarship Opportunities

Dallas Public School Students Invited By Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson To Attend Annual Military Services Academy Day Oct. 21

Dallas Public School students are invited by U.S. Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson to attend the 8th Annual Military Services Academy Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 21, in the auditorium of the DISD Administration Building, 3700 Ross Avenue. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.

Congresswoman Johnson hosts the event each year to inform students of the education and scholarship opportunities available through the armed services academies. Representatives from the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Merchant Marines will join Rep. Johnson to provide information about their respective institutions.

The event also includes a seminar to inform high school students about the standards, obligations and requirements to qualify for a nomination to the military service academies. Students selected for an academy appointment receive a full scholarship.
