As the nation's eleventh largest school district, Dallas Independent School District serves more than 160,000 students who come from homes where 58 different languages are spoken.  Operating with a $1 billion dollar budget, DISD employs 18,613 employees including 10,000 teachers in 220 schools.

DISD Parent/Community Comments Wanted At Public Forum

Input From Community Will Be Shared with Texas State Comptroller

Dallas parents and community members are invited to attend a series of public forums concerning the performance of Dallas Independent School District November 13, 14, and 16 between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. at various campuses throughout the district.

The forums are part of the Texas State Comptroller's performance review of district schools and offer an opportunity to highlight the outstanding programs as well as to bring forth the concerns parents may have regarding the educational environment.

The district's operations and management processes and procedures also will be examined in order for the comptroller to make recommendations for improving the efficiency of the district schools.

Participants are invited to attend any of the three forums to be offered at high schools throughout the city and to add their written comments to those of others on several areas of district operations. No presentation will be made. Forums will be held at the schools listed.
