As the nation's eleventh largest school district, Dallas Independent School District serves more than 160,000 students who come from homes where 58 different languages are spoken. Operating with a $1 billion dollar budget, DISD employs 18,613 employees including 10,000 teachers in 220 schools.

The first in a series of public forums, part of the School Performance Review of the Dallas Independent School District, will be held Monday, November 13, at 5 p.m. Bryan Adams, Lincoln, Moisés E. Molina, W.W. Samuell, A. Maceo Smith and Sunset are the sites for Monday's forums. Parents and community members are encouraged to attend the high school closest to their home.
No presentations will be made at the forums. However, participants are invited to add their written comments to those of others on several areas of district operations. The public's opinion regarding outstanding programs, effective instructional practices and unique community/district partnerships are welcomed. In order to make recommendations for improving the efficiency of the district as a whole, the comptroller's office also will review the district's operations, management processes and procedures.
The additional forums will be held as follows:
• Tuesday, November 14, at Hillcrest, North Dallas, L.G. Pinkston, Seagoville, W.T. White and Woodrow Wilson.
• Thursday, November 16, at David. W. Carter, Thomas Jefferson and Franklin D. Roosevelt. Forums start at 5 p.m.
