District to Host Parent Information Fair at Three Schools, March 3
Parents of students enrolled in the Dallas Independent School District are invited to attend a Parent Information Fair on Saturday, March 3, from 8 a.m. - to noon. The workshops, held at Dallas schools, are designed to give parents information to help their children succeed. Parents from the district's 28 low performing schools are specifically encouraged to attend. Workshops will be offered in both English and Spanish.
The information that will be shared at these workshops will help parents understand how they can help their child academically. The Parent Information Fairs will be held at Onesimo Hernandez Elementary School, 5555 Maple Avenue (near Love Field); J. L. Long Middle, 6116 Reiger Avenue (in East Dallas); and James Bowie Elementary School, 330 N. Marsalis (in Oak Cliff).
Sessions will include: My Child's Academic History: What Do Test Scores Mean?, TAAS Mathematics Skills for Parents and What is SBDM? (Site-Based Decision Making).
Free child care will be offered. Parents who attend will be eligible to receive door prizes.
