The Alternative Certification Program of the Dallas Independent School District is now recruiting applicants for the 2001-2002 training cycle. Teachers are being recruited in the following areas to assist with filling vacancies:
Bilingual (Pre-K-6 and 1-6); English as a Second Language (PreK-12);
Special Education (PreK-12); General Elementary (Pre-K-6 and 1-6);
Secondary Reading (6-12); Secondary Mathematics (6-12); Composite Science (9-12) Life/Earth Science (7-8) and Music (K-6 and 7-12).
The deadline for applications is April 6 by 4:30 p.m.
To be considered, applicants must meet specific criteria. Course requirements vary within each area and are outlined in the application packet. Entry requirements are:
• 2.5 overall GPA or 2.75 on the last 60 hours
• 2.5 course work GPA
• A Basic Skills Test: TASP/TECAT/PPST/PRAXIS
