TEENS TO DISCUSS IMPORTANCE OF TECHNOLOGY AT SATURDAY'S TOWNHALL MEETING
Dallas students will participate Saturday, April 21, in the 6th Annual Teen Townhall Meeting, in the Dallas City Hall Council Chambers, 1500 Marilla St. Presentations begin at 9 a.m.
This year's theme: Are You Connected? Bridging the Digital Divide hopes to answer questions regarding students' access to technology and the skills required to compete in the new millennium. The event is sponsored by the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Dallas Alumnae Chapter.
A panel of experts including representatives from EDS, Texas Instruments and the Dallas Independent School District CAST (Connecting A Student to Technology) department.
Among the technology-related displays are: How To Build Your Own Computer and Cable in the Classroom. In addition, information will be provided to participants by the Dallas Area Technology Alliance, an organization which hopes to eliminate the racial and economic digital divide by providing adults and students education and job training.
