District Has 27,430 Volunteers; 2,242 Partners
WHAT: The 32nd Annual Partners in Education Recognition Program recognizes the contributions of district volunteers and partners and honors them for their dedication to furthering the educational opportunities of Dallas children.
"The success of the Dallas Independent School District depends in great part on the support of volunteer groups and individuals who contribute time and effort to district schools," said General Superintendent Mike Moses, who will bring greetings at the event.
Among the most significant awards to be presented at the event will be the 30-years-of-service award and the Superintendent's Award.
WHEN: At 10 a.m. Thursday, May 10, at the Great Hall, International Apparel Mart, 2300 Stemmons Frwy. This year's theme is: "The Winning Team."
WHO: The volunteers who will be recognized have spent time tutoring and mentoring students, serving on advisory committees, coordinating events for school staff and students.
The DISD has 2,242 partners and 27,430 volunteers who have contributed approximately 705,635 hours of service this school year.
