DISD Takes Public Comments at Committment of the Whole Meeting
The Board of Trustees of the Dallas Independent School District announced at its August monthly board meeting that the Public Forum of the Committee of the Whole meeting will begin at the conclusion of the closed session and conclude prior to the business section of the committee's agenda.
Designed to give the community the opportunity to address the board about any concerns, the public forum is a standard agenda item of the Committee of the Whole. The monthly committee meets at 4 p.m., every third Wednesday in the board room of the Administration Building, 3700 Ross Avenue (MapscoŽ key 45H). The next Committee of Whole Meeting is Sept. 19.
To address the board of trustees, the public may register prior to the meeting with the Board of Education Office at (972) 925-3720. After 3 p.m. the day of the meeting, stakeholders may register at the meeting by securing a delegation card, completing it and handing it to the Executive Director of Board Services. No cards will be accepted after the public forum period begins. The forums are scheduled for one hour.
Public comments at regular board meetings are limited to specific agenda items. To address the board on specific agenda items, the public may register until 3 p.m. with the Board of Education Office at (972) 925-3720. After 3 p.m. the day of the meeting, the public may register by securing a delegation card, completing it and handing it to the Executive Director of Board Services prior to the beginning of the meeting. No cards will be accepted after the meeting convenes. The Board of Education holds its regular meetings at 6 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month in the Auditorium of the School Administration Building, 3700 Ross Avenue. The next meeting is scheduled for Sept. 27. The public is welcome to attend.
